Accountant

Role Overview: As an Accountant at a leading company in UAE, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the overall financial health of the company. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, provide financial insights, and actively contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant, with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with [specific accounting software or tools] is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA are advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and accounts payable/receivable entries.
  • Month-end and Year-end Close: Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and preparing financial statements.
  • General Ledger Management: Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate coding and classification of transactions.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices, preparing payments, and coordinating collections.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Expense Analysis: Analyze and report on expense trends, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing spending.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare various financial reports and statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.
  • Auditing Support: Assist in both internal and external audits by providing accurate and organized financial documentation.
  • Process Improvements: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance department and collaborate with colleagues to implement changes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, answer queries, and contribute to strategic financial decision-making.
